~~~It was a good run, and a lot of fun while it lasted, but it's all over now. That's right, Vertical Vision is now no more. As a matter of fact, it's been no more for about a year now.
~~~Clean Slate is, in fact, still on sale. We're still receiving occasional orders for it. The price is now $10, since we're out of the stockpile, and individual orders will be produced individually. Just send us an e-mail at Vertical_Vision@hotmail.com, and we'll tell you where to send the ten bucks. Also, since there are still some Version 2 CD's kickin around, they'll be going for five bucks to anyone who wants them until we run out.
~~~I would like to sincerely thank all of our fans, and anyone who helped us out and supported us along the way. None of what we accomplished over the years would have been possible without the friends, the fans, and chiefly, God's grace.
~~~Thanks to every memeber over the years, Ben Porter, Wes Perry, James Shearer, Luke McAdam, Josh MacIsaac, and Ben Nickerson. The band was a living thing, and every version was just as great as the last.
~~~If you have any questions or comments, please remember that the Vertical Vision e-mail account will still be checked from time to time, at Vertical_Vision@hotmail.com, so feel free to drop us a line.
~~~Keep fit and have fun. God bless. -V2

~~~If you've been paying attention to other parts of the website, you may have noticed that the new CD is out. We have submitted it to four radio stations; two in Moncton, one in Russia, and one in Ontario. Oddly enough, the only ones that we're not sure will play our tunes are the ones in Moncton. The CD might be distributed into Moncton Christian bookstores, but at this point, you can get them from any member of Vertical Vision.
~~~So again, if you want to get ahold of one, just e-mail us here and we'll give you more info on how to get your hands on one.
~~~As for now, Vertical Vision, as usual, will remain mostly dormant over the summer, then pick it up again in the fall. If you really want to hear us on the radio, why don't you give X-Treme 101 a call, and request to hear Intoxicated by Vertical Vision. It's just a suggestion.
~~~Until next time, keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle, and love God with all your heart. -V2

- 07.04.03 -
~~~Have I got news for you! Well . . . have I? Yes, I have! Vertical Vision will be recording their third and final album on Monday, April 14th. Now that I have you're attention, no, this is probably not the final album, but it will be significant nonetheless. We're expecting much more from this one than from the previous two, and Clean Slate will be going out to radio stations worldwide as soon as it's cut and burned (I'm not kidding either).
~~~For the next week we're going to have to spend a lot of time practicing so we'll be ready for this whole thing. It's going to be a five or six song demo recording, but not quite demo quality. Since we're sending it to radio stations, it's going to be a little nicer than that.
~~~The price for Clean Slate is still a little undecided. Since this recording is going to cost more, we would like to charge a solid $10 for it, but I don't think that we'll be able to, for there only being 5 songs on it. Until next time (at which point we'll hopefully have a new CD), have a nice day, and don't get too involved with gardening, -In Christ, V2
- 26.02.03 -
~~~Wow, I really didn't realize how long it had been since the last time there was a new entry. Sorry about the long wait. A lot has been going on under the surface at V2, and as you should know by the add on the first page, we're now getting ready to play Blaze 2003! This year looks like it will be as great, or even better than all the others. As you might have guessed, we required more than two band members to play Blaze, as we skipped out on it last year because of this reason, so we've picked up two quasi-temp members.
~~~First, we got Josh MacIsaac on lead acoustic guitar, and second we got Ben Nickerson to play drums. You might be wondering if we found a guy named ben to play drums for the sake of more adequately replacing Ben Porter, or just to make it easier to fix the webpage if he does join the band. If you are wondering this, I am astonished. And give no comment.
~~~Just in case you don't really feel like going to the Blaze page by clicking the little poster on our main page, (which I highly recommend that you do), or just by clicking here, I'll tell you a little about it. It's happening at 6:30pm, on March 13th, during the 30 Hour Famine at the school. It's open to everyone who wants to come, and again is taking place in the ABU auditorium. If you want to know any more, you'll just have to go to the site.
~~~We hope to see you there! Have a nice day! -In Christ, V2
- 26.09.02 -
~~~Here we are again, back to the old way of things. Okay, not at all, actually things are really different this time around. We have scouted out some drumming talent, but for now, and probably for later, V2 will remain an acoustic duo. The new songs are coming together really well, and more and more will continue to be posted on the lyrics page, for a preview of things to come.
~~~Our next gig coming up is on Friday, Oct 4 at Teasters Coffee shop in the Highfield Square shopping centre. We'll be the feature from 7:00pm-8:00pm. If you're looking for a good time, with good drinks (of a non-contaminated nature), and good tunes, come on out. Odds are the next thing we'll be doing after that is playing at the mosaic the next friday night, as we did last friday night. The evening went well, but the turnout was quite dismal. They said they like our style a lot, though, so we'll be back for sure.
~~~As of now, some preliminary connections are being made concerning the Clean Slate Project (see below), and there are a few things on the line for recording. It's all very tentative right now, so I'll be keeping it under wraps for the time being. Feel the excitement!
~~~So, if you're in Moncton, so are we, and odds are it won't be long before you hear us again. Have a nice day! -V2
- 05.09.02 -
~~~Any minute now classes will start at ABU again, and you know what that means! Vertical Vision will be back in business, and into the full swing of things again. Our first gig will be at the ABU opening concert on Saturday the 14th, and possibly even one before that at the Mosaic cafe on Friday the 13th. Unlucky? I think not. Only a sign of good things to come. Jesus can overcome any superstitions, my friend.
~~~Other than those two spots, we may also be playing at the opening banquet for the school, and there is a small but interesting chance that we may end up touring with the ABU choir at the end of the year. Now, I'm not talking about a Metallica thing where the choir backs us up or anything, just hitting the same spots, but with our kind of music ("that loud Rock n' Roll music, with all that BANGING" as some people would like to call it). So, all in all, this year is shaping up to be interesting.
~~~As for Clean Slate project, writing is in full motion for the new music, and it looks like there's going to be a lot of it. The new stuff, although reminiscent of the old stuff, is much more professional, but all we need now is a full band to be playing it. Once at ABU we're going to be looking for a new drummer / percussionist, perhaps even autitioning them if necessary. We (James and Wesley) are determined to make this next album blow away the first two, and make our radio debut with it.
~~~So, we'll be expecting a lot of ourselves this year, even if you aren't. Until next time, keep fit and have fun, and remember to keep God number 1. -V2
- 18.05.02 -
~~~So here the summer is again, and the band only has two members, and no new CD's. I guess it's a little disappointing, but not all that much. We do have plans to release another CD at the beginning of first semester of the new school year (this September). This one will be more professionally produced, while at the same time, more efficiently reproduced. What will this mean to you? I really don't know, I guess it's up to you what it means. It will have a very low price tag, somewhere between $5-$10, and will feature our new style of music, the light "easy listening" acoustic rock of the new Vertical Vision.
~~~The New CD is tentatively called "Clean Slate", and just so we can sound professional and interesting, we are calling it's production "The Clean Slate Project". It will have many of the same songs as the last, plus a few new songs we've been working on, and are confident you'll enjoy. A newer sound, one that leaves a minty fresh taste in your mouth even. Okay, not exactly, but it does sound good. The new songs include, (and are not limited to, nor necessarily, nor are they in any particular order), Not Goodbye, Never Again, For You, Who Am I?, Label Me, Fallen Pt.1, and Fallen Pt.2.
~~~We still have to go through the tough time of deciding what's going to make the CD, and what's not, but needless to say, we're not running short on material any time soon. Perhaps we will have new members for the recording, perhaps not. Only God knows what the future has in store for us. So, stay posted, and drink lots of clean water, it's good for your complexion.
~~~In Christian love, -V2
- 02.04.02 -
~~~It has been a while since I've posted anything here, but can you really blame me? Well, I suppose you can, but I'm gonna ask you to hold off on the blaming for just a few minutes so I can tell you what's presently going on in the band. We don't have any new members yet, but we have been playing some gigs, mostly with Are You In?, which is Ben's new band.
~~~Our last gig was in Grand Manan, and was a really great time. The people were friendly, we got to talk to some nice cops while we were there (don't worry, we weren't arrested, but it does make for an interesting story nonetheless. Maybe I'll tell it on the stories page someday), and best of all we got to hand out some Bibles and share the mesasge of Jesus Christ with over a hundred people that came to the concert.
~~~Now, I know what you're thinking, "If Saturn is bigger than the Earth, why is it's surface gravity the same?" And if you're not thinking of that, you should be ashamed of yourself. It's because Saturn is made mostly of gasses, and overall is actually lighter than water (it would float if you put it in a super-huge bathtub), so it has a weak, although larger, gravitational field.
~~~Since you're back on the right track now, I'll tell you about our next concert. This one will be at the Astor Theatre in Liverpool. We're (actually it's more Are You In? that's doing it, but I'm going to try to take credit for it anyway) pulling out all the stops for this one, and it's going to be a huge event. It's at 8:00pm on Friday, April 19th. Tickets are 5 bucks a head, and you can buy them in advance at th ebox office by calling (902) 354-5250.
~~~That's all for now, remember to keep your shoes tied tightly, and to always walk on the right side of the road. Walking on the left side just won't do, and you might get a chance to talk to some nice cops while you're at it. In Christ, -V2

- 11.02.02 -
~~~So, I suppose a lot has changed, and maybe we have a lot of explaining to do. Maybe it's up to us. Maybe we've learned a lesson. Pardon me if I get all philosophical about this. I would like to make it clear that it was God's will for this to happen, and that what the future holds is still uncertain, but we can all rest assured that God will be there through all of it.
~~~As of now, the band now consists of Wesley and James, and maybe sometimes Luke for special occasions. We're going to try out the small gig idea for a while, and as of now, our next gig is probably going to be this friday at Highfield Baptist church, with a few other bands. The band is not the same, but the words are, and the dedication stronger. We must grow from this, and we must return our focus to ministry.
~~~This band is not about being a band, and that has held us back in the past, and we hope that it will not anymore. This band is a ministry tool for God, and nothing more. We may be people, but we are people living only for God's glory, or at least we try to be. We may all falter, but we all have to get back up afterwards.
~~~I'll see you soon. Until then, keep it right with God, and find His will in every situation. -The new V2

- 06.01.02 -
~~~Well, would you look at that, another year has come and gone, and what do we have to show for it this time? A new CD, that's what. The New Years eve thing was a great time, at Dawson's Settlement Baptist, and at Grand Bay Baptist, good times were had by all.
~~~The new CD is called 'Version 2', because the last one was Version 1, and this one is selling for \$12, if you buy it from one of us, and more if you buy it somewhere else. It was going to be $15 but because of a printing error on the first 100 copies, we don't feel that we can charge full price, but luckily it doesn't have anything to do with the music part of things. We don't have it set up at any stores yet, like Version 1, which is still at La Bonne Nouvell for around $5, but we will soon.
~~~Well, we don't have anything much planned for the next little while, so if you want to book us, just send us and e-mail at the address plastered all over this page, and we'll get back to you promptly. Don't worry, we're not big on planning really far ahead (as you may know if you read the About the CD stories).
~~~In Christ -V2

- 26.12.01 -
~~~Sorry that it's been so very very long since this page has been updated, there just wasn't much news to tell for the longest time, but now I have just a little too much to tell you!
~~~First of all, the recording of our new CD, Version 2, was more or less a success if you exclude a broken distortion pedal and the rushedness of the whole ordeal. We got it done, and now it's being copied for all to buy (hopefully). It has 13 tracks on it, and will be sold for \\$15, which is a deal for a professionally reproduced CD. No more of that home made stuff for us, we're going all the way with it this time.
~~~Even more exciting than the CD, (for you at least), is that we have two concerts coming up to release the CD at. Both concerts are going to be a New Years theme, with the count down and everything. The first one is on, Dec 29th, in Moncton, then on New Years eve (31st) at Grand Bay Baptist Church. If you'd like more info on these, just send us an e-mail and we'll get right back to you.
~~~I hope to see you at at least one of these shows, so have a great holiday season, and remember to keeo Christ in Christmas!
~~~In Christ -V2
- 14.10.01 -
~~~Well, what can I say? I can say a lot of things, come to think of it, but what I am going to say is that the coffee house at the outreach center went really well. The crowd was meager, but the music was smashing. That's about all I have to say about that. Good coffee, good people, good tunes, what more could you want. Well . . . I'll see you at the ABU coffee house. This Sunday evening. Bring the Holy Spirit with you, I hope to see how much of it we can fit in one room sometime. Although the outreach center is kinda small, it can fit a lot of spirit, and that's all you really need.
~~~Have a great day! -V2
12.10.01
~~~What's next? you may ask. I'll tell you what's next. I really will, I'm not kidding. Tomorrow (saturday 13th oct) at 7:00pm, there is a little show going on at the Christian Outreach Center in Moncton. Now don't ask me where that is, because I really don't know. All I know is that we're gonna be there, and we're not gonna be the only ones. So that should be a pretty good evening, and a time of spiritual lessons for the participants and the spectators.
~~~Later on there will be a Battle of the Bands here at ABU. We're inviting a couple of bands from Bethany Bible College to come on down and join us. As of now, the date isn't set (just that it is somewhere in the middle of November), and we're not sure who's playing there (besides us), but in any case, it's gonna rock.
~~~I hope to see you at both of these fun times. Until then, keep it right with God, because that's all that really matters in the end.
~~~In Christ's Love -V2
14.09.01
~~~Well, here's something relatively new: our CD is now on sale at La Bonne Nouvelle, which, if you didn't know, is a Christian bookstore in Moncton. So, if you're looking to buy a CD for \\$5, that's right, only five dollars, then that's the place to go!
~~~Not much else to say right now. A Christian battle a of the bands is in conception stages, possibly between ABU and Bethany, and we're really looking forward to Blaze 2002, which also isn't planned yet. They're coming, and they're going to rock.
~~~Vertical Vision will be playing at a funraising coffee house in Bear River in early November, and you'll hear much more on that in the days to come.
~~~Until all of these things come to pass, we'll still be right here at ABU, practicing and studying . . . maybe more practicing than studying.
~~~In Christian Love - V2

30.08.01
~~~Saturday, the band will be back together again to play at the dorm opening concert at ABU. We think. We haven't heard much about it since last semester, but as far as we know, we're still in it. It's almost there. Let the good times roll, my friends. Hopefully this newfound nearness to each other will result in many more concerts, and much more spiritual growth.
~~~Nu is the new pod for Vertical Vision this semester, with Ben, Luke, and Wesley staying there, there will be much music and jammin' goin' on in that pod. Can't wait to be there.
~~~Have a great day, and God bless!
~~~In Christ - V2

15.08.01
~~~Well, well, well. Nothing really all that new and exciting, just that the page has a clean new look, and Luke McAdam is now in the Bios section of the page, so check that out if you dare.
~~~University is quickly approaching and that's a good thing. Back in Moncton, the whole band will be in the same place, and we'll be able to practice and to play gigs and everything without spending hundreds of dollars! It's fun.
~~~Hope you like the new changes. If you have any questions, or comments, or would like to purchase a CD or a T-Shirt, just send an e-mail to one of the blindingly obvious links on the page.
~~~Until next time, love God, hate sin, and drink milk.
~~~In Christ -V2
06.08.01
~~~The concert went well, except for the appearant lack of attendance. Except for the loss of money on the band's part, the weekend was worthwhile, though. It was our first chance to solidly jam with the whole band in a long time, and a good preperation for the next gig.
~~~Our next gig will be at the dorm opening concert on september 1st, at the Brinton auditorium at ABU, 7:00pm. We hope to see you there.
~~~In Christ -V2

22.07.01
~~~The page has been updated to include a lot more demos, ones for almost every song on the CD. Check back often for more stuff. Don't forget to look at the news before this one for details on the concert. It's right below this, past the fuzzy V thing. See it? Good. Check it out, it's gonna be a blast.
~~~We'll have our new lead guitarist for the Concert, Luke McAdam, which will make everything sound better. Why isn't he on the Bios yet? you may ask . . . well, we just thought that we'd give him until after the concert, just to make it official, then add him if he doesn't spontaneously combust or something like that. Who can really use a spontaneously combusted lead guitarist, really? Not us.
~~~Anyways, that was a little off topic. Come to think of it, I don't think that there was any topic to begin with, so that doesn't really matter.
~~~See you at the concert! -In Christ -V2

05.07.01
~~~Well, it's for sure now. The concert will be held at West Head Wesleyan Church, in Clarke's Harbour (Cape Sable Island, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, Canada) at 7:00pm on Saturday, August 4th. Everyone come on out if you want to have a good time. There is a suggested admission of \\$2.00, but you don't have to pay if you don't think you can. We just want to be able to pay for the gas of getting to West Head. There will be our cd's there to sell for $5 for a limited time only, and t-shirts for $15. I hope to see you there!
~~~If you would like any more information on all of this, or would like to order a CD or T-shirt, just send us an e-mail by following one of those crazy links on our page.
~~~See you soon, and keep it right with God! -V2
26.05.01
~~~Now that the CD is out and around (at least a little), we're trying to endorse it and make some copies. We'll have it out and around as soon as possible. Check out the new CD section of the web page by clicking the pic in the middle of the main page, I hope you enjoy it!
~~~In recent and coming events with the band, the teen retreat at Camp Jordan was cancelled, which was a huge disappointment for all, but better luck next time. Coming up next on the agenda is a mission weekend in West Head, Cape Sable Island, probably on the first weekend in August. We'll see you there (I hope).
~~~Well, other than that, I suppose that that's about it for now, now that summer is upon us and things have reached the ultimate in "wound down". See you round, and God be with you. -V2

30.04.01
~~~We recorded, and it was good. Thanks a bundle to the Piano Man for his help in recording, and to Ben Gogan for the mikes we didn't use. Maybe next time. It sounds clean. I know you're all wondering "When can I get my hands on a copy of the new Vertical Vision CD?!", and if you're not, you're totally out of your mind. Right now, the whole copywriting thing is being looked into, and so is our lack of a CD burner. Someday it'll be out, and someday people can have it. For the most part, though, this CD will be for promotional purposes, so sorry.
~~~Well, the future is coming upon us quickly, so we'd better do something before it gets here.
~~~In Christ, -V2
23.04.01
~~~Well, it's finally over. Another school year has come and gone, and what have we done? Well, not all that much. With the spare time, and the recording only a few days away, I'll be makeing a lot more upgrades to the page now. Some pics from Blaze 2001 have been added to the gallery, so enjoy!
~~~Have a nice summer, and keep it real with God.
11.04.01
~~~Almost over. I can't believe that this school year is already come and gone. And what have we done? Beats me. Do we have a cd out yet? Nope. But soon! How soon? you may be asking. We're planning on making a recording near the end of April, and from there, we're planning on buying some cd's, and bumming cd-burners wherever we can, to get as many out as we can before the summer falls upon us, and we have to go our own ways.
~~~It's not over then, either. Vertical Vision will be helping out at the youth retreat at Camp Jordan! That's right, all your favorite band members in one place, one time only, over the summer, on Victoria Day Weekend! You probably don't find that nearly as exciting as we do, but I assure you, it's gonna be a blast! They're pulling out all the stops for this weekend. If you want more info on how to sign up, send us an e-mail, and we'll get you in touch with them.
~~~Catch ya later, I've still got lots of work to do! -V2

27.03.01
~~~Well, it's been a while, but there's not all that much to catch up on. Papers to be done, tests to write, all in all, it's a pretty buisy time of year.
~~~Blaze 2001 went off without a hitch (at least I'd like to think so). There wasn't as big a turnout as we'd hoped, but the music was great, and so was the show. I really hope that God spoke to people's hearts through the music, and that this has opened up the door for future opportunities. If you were there, thank you so much, we need your support to get this place rocking. Soon, things like Blaze won't be all that uncommon, if we can have our way. Look for it next year, first semester. Be there, with V-squared.
~~~In Christ -V2
17.02.01
~~~It's official! The rally is going to be on March 22nd, about 6:30pm. Blaze 2001 will have the following bands: Fortress, Splinter, Blue Optic, and Vertical Vision. Don't miss this, it's gonna rock!
~~~Love and prayers -V2
09.02.01
~~~Well, we played "Let it Go" at the coffee house at ABU in View, and I think that we sounded kindof okay. Unfortunately we were missing our bassist, and we had a special guest lead guitarist in his place (Luke McAddam). Hope you liked it.
~~~Looking into the future, there are plans ahead for march (after the break) to have a big rally in the Brinton Auditorium with a few different bands jamming to God's glory. Still looking for a name for the even (Big Youth Thing, Bohemoth, More Betterness, Something Different are a few ideas) If you have any suggestions, feel free to mail them to us!
~~~Well, until next time, Love God, Hate Sin, and Drink Milk (thanks Brock).
~~~For Christ, V2
15.01.01
~~~Now that the new webpage is securely in place, we can pick up where we left off, and put some more demos online (even more than we could have before) and more easily be contacted by people who have nothing better to do!
~~~We're back to practicing from time to time, but our bassist is around less and less making it hard for us to practice. We'll get there, though! The release date for our debut super-indie album had been pushed back, but have no fear, we're still working!
~~~In Christ, V2

04.01.01
~~~Well, another year has come and gone, and still we seem to be intact. Sorry about all of the problems with the web page. Our provider Frontera Corp seems to be incredibly unreliable for the "most reliable domain provider on the net". I'm looking for a new place to stick our page, and have been for a while. Trying to find one that's easy to remember. Anyways, we appreciate your support.
~~~See you back at ABU!

08.12.00
~~~Last night was the ABU banquet, and our first public preformance. We sang "Next to Me" by Ghoti Hook, and "Lonely Night" by us (V2). It was a great time at the banquet; lots of stupidity and laughing and just basically good times. Great place to play. We went totally acoustic (or shall I say, unplugged, for Clapton fans) and word is, the sound was good.
~~~Some of our story is being covered by upcoming communications great, Guillaume Landry. Pictures were taken by Bennet MacDonald, which will probably be on our web page sometime in the near future.

~~~Thanks for listening to us, and I hope we have another chance to play for everyone in the future! -V2
22.11.00
~~~ Sofar we are just in the process of practicing up and writing our songs, and getting the web page together. We plan on recording and releasing an indepentant CD (very independant) sometime in late January to early February, with the help of a couple of good friends of ours.
~~~ We have no tour dates scheduled, and for now are quite buisy because we are all very studious university students, and don't get much time to do anything but study. Okay, maybe that's a bit of a lie, but we are still just starting out, so have nothing scheduled.
~~~ If you would like to book a preformance, e-mail me at w_r_perry@hotmail.com and I'll see what I can do.

~~~ Have a nice day, and God bless! -V2
