I remember when the days were longer
I remember when the nights weren't so cold
I remember when we thought we were stronger
What has happened now that we have grown old?

You were there when you thought I needed you
Where will you be when I fall down on my knees

I guess it was wrong to think I needed nobody else
And I guess it was right to find a deeper love than I felt
And I guess it was wrong to think that I could leave behind
Everything, and still believe like a child

Do you remember how simple life seemed it could be?
Do you remember the freedom of not knowing we were free?
Can I find again how simple God's love it could be?
Can I truly know salvation from Christ came to me?

You were there when you thought I needed you
But He just wanted me to fall down on my knees

I guess it was wrong to think I needed nobody else
And I guess it was right to find a deeper love than I felt
And I guess it was wrong to think that I could leave behind
Everything, and still believe like a child

The treehouse still stands where it always was
But it won't always be around
And someday I know I will climb above
Cause no greater love have I found

And as I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord, my soul, will keep
And if I die before I wake
I know the Lord, my soul, will take

I guess it was wrong to think I needed nobody else
And I guess you were right to find a deeper love than I felt
And I guess it was wrong to think that I could leave behind
Everything, and still believe like a child
